Frequently asked questions

Your dentist will advise on your child’s first visit. Generally, children can start seeing a dental hygienist as soon as their first tooth appears. As part of the visit, we show parents how to brush their toddler’s teeth properly, which tools to use, and how to establish healthy hygiene habits at home. If the child cooperates, we start incorporating a more complex dental cleaning regimen from the age of 2 to 3.

It helps them develop a positive attitude towards dental hygiene from an early age. Thanks to our hygienists’ playful approach, your child will learn to overcome fear and adopt the right oral hygiene habits – this helps prevent the development of tooth and interdental decay and gum inflammation in the future.

The price of the first visit starts at 1,550 CZK, and the cost of repeat visits (recalls) starts at 1,100 CZK. For more detailed information, see our price list

Dental hygiene for children is essentially the same as for adults, although we do adapt the treatment to the child’s age and incorporate elements of play. For example, we will begin by letting the child “ride” the chair so they can get used to it. We will also assess how well they can brush their teeth, select suitable tools, and practice the correct technique together with the parent(s).

In the case of very young children with baby teeth, we focus on educating parents on how to clean their children’s teeth properly and thoroughly at home. If the child cooperates, we also perform professional cleaning – AIRFLOW® or depuration with an electric toothbrush. For older children, dental hygiene is performed in the standard way, the same as for adults.

For the youngest children, one appointment takes 30–45 minutes, which includes taking the time to get them acquainted with their dental hygienist and the environment. For older children, an appointment usually takes 45–60 minutes.
