I had an outstanding experience at DeHa. The dental hygienist was not only professional and thorough but also made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. They took the time to explain each step, provided helpful advice for maintaining oral health, and ensured my teeth felt exceptionally clean. The clinic itself was clean and well-organized, making the visit even more pleasant. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions

If you are visiting us for the first time, please arrive at least 5 minutes early to fill out a short health questionnaire.

We will start by examining your teeth and gums and assessing your oral hygiene. We will recommend suitable dental aids, including interdental brushes, and together we will practice a proper cleaning technique.

This is followed by a professional dental cleaning based on your current condition. Following the GBT protocol, we remove dental plaque and pigmentation with the AIRFLOW® technology, tartar with ultrasound, and any additional plaque and tartar with hand instruments.

After your first treatment, you will receive a selection of interdental brushes along with a graphic representation of your teeth, showing exactly which type of brush to use in which area. Finally, we will plan your next visit.

A typical dental cleaning appointment for adults takes about 50 minutes. We begin with an examination, followed by motivation, instruction, and selection of tools. In the second part of the appointment, we perform a professional dental hygiene treatment.

Yes, dental hygiene is important at any age. It is part of comprehensive prevention: oral health affects the health of the whole body. Regular hygiene helps to keep your own teeth as long as possible, allowing you to eat a variety of foods without restriction, including harder or fibrous foods. And finally, healthy teeth also contribute to a younger appearance.

Definitely. During pregnancy, hormonal changes occur that may increase susceptibility to gum inflammation and bleeding. Regular dental hygiene helps prevent these problems, maintain healthy gums, and protect teeth from decay. Please make sure you inform your hygienist about your pregnancy.

This can vary – your hygienist will recommend a plan tailored to your needs after your first treatment. However, the general rules of thumb are:

  • After your initial dental hygiene appointment, we recommend a second visit within 7 days to 3 months, depending on the condition of your oral hygiene.
  • We recommend that clients with braces undergo dental hygiene regularly at intervals of 1–3 months.
  • We strongly recommend that clients with gum inflammation or periodontal disease see their dental hygienist 3–4 times a year.
  • For children and teenagers aged 5–17, we recommend booking at least 2 appointments per year, although they will benefit from more frequent visits.

For clients with excellent hygiene and no gum inflammation, we recommend at least 2 appointments per year.

After the application of remineralising gel in our office, we recommend skipping meals and drinks for 30 minutes. You should avoid darker foods and beverages, such as coffee or black and green tea, for at least one hour. This will help prevent pigmentation. We also recommend refraining from smoking for at least one hour after dental cleaning.

GBT stands for Guided Biofilm Therapy. It is a proven, science-based method of dental hygiene suitable for adults and children, focusing on the targeted removal of dental biofilm (plaque) as well as long-term health of teeth and gums.

Treatment following the GBT protocol is more effective and gentle than traditional methods, and helps maintain a healthy smile with long-lasting results. It is minimally invasive, usually painless, and recommended for all age groups and sensitive patients.

The GBT protocol consists of five steps:

  1. Biofilm detection – a special dye solution highlights plaque and problem areas.
  2. Education and motivation – a detailed explanation on how to improve your specific oral hygiene.
  3. Biofilm removal – above and below the gums, using AIRFLOW® technology.
  4. Tartar removal – gentle cleaning with PIEZON® ultrasound.
  5. Check-up and care plan – recommended frequency of check-ups (recall) and personalised at-home care.
